1st Customer Review : Tastes great + strengthens and rebuilds enamel
I and my 7 and 9 year old daughters like the taste of this gum, but the main reason we buy it is because it has calcium in a form that can be directly absorbed from your saliva into your teeth, and utilized to strengthen and rebuild weak spots in your tooth enamel. The specific chemical is calcium casein peptone-calcium phosphate, a lactose-free milk derivative.
Natural saliva has calcium in it; this will give it a boost, especially important if you have dry mouth. A decade ago I had the idea of rinsing my teeth with a liquid calcium supplement, thinking it would boost my saliva's calcium, but after a couple wasted years, I read that the calcium in your saliva has to be bound to other, specific chemicals in order to be absorbed and used by your teeth. This product fits the bill.
I also use ACT enamel-restoring rinse. The ACT rinse has a similar calcium product but also has fluoride. Too much fluoride can be have negative effects on teeth, so I use the rinse...

2nd Customer Review : Tasty, long-lasting, and its benefits seems well-researched, with reservations
I'm a dentist and just want to add my opinion, and a qualified five-star vote, for this product (use your own judgment in evaluating any food product, though). Here's why:
First, it does seem to make the mouth fresher. A small piece -- about a quarter of a stick -- works as well as a full stick.
Second, it has xylitol, a natural sugar that acid-producing bacteria don't metabolize well, so it can help prevent cavities. Yes, yes, I know, a lot of bogus claims are being made for dietary product without any regard to science or common sense, but sometimes a dietary product actually works and research supports the anti-cavity claims. Xylitol is wonderful but does have two problems -- first, it doesn't last long so gums usually add other sugars to extend the flavor and second, because pets have different digestive systems than humans xylitol is very toxic to pets (but so are things like chocolate and grapes).

3rd Customer Review : Best tasting gum that's good for teeth!
My son had a cavity forming, so he dentist recommended this gum for him to chew each day. 6 months later-- no sign of a cavity! Amazing-- and I hadn't believed the dentist, but I'm glad I followed his advice! Now I'm hooked on this gum-- especially after I have hard candy, to help clean my teeth. I love the taste, and I'm very picky with gum. I'm so glad I found this gum here!
